Baghdad: Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid has emphasized the urgent need for a unified approach to halt aggression and facilitate aid delivery to the Gaza Strip. During a meeting with Palestinian Ambassador Ahmed al-Ruwaidi at the Baghdad Palace, President Rashid reiterated Iraq's solidarity with the Palestinian people and called for a concerted Arab and international effort to address the ongoing crisis.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Iraqi President highlighted the importance of taking a decisive stand against the aggression affecting the Gaza Strip, as well as the policies that result in the killing and starvation of civilians, including women, children, and the elderly. The discussions during the meeting also covered the dire humanitarian needs in Gaza, stressing the necessity to ensure the delivery of humanitarian, medical, and food aid to meet the needs of the affected citizens.
Moreover, both leaders delved into the tragic conditions faced by the Palestinian people in Gaza and across Palestine. They addressed the humanitarian catastrophe that has resulted from the ongoing blockade and the obstruction of aid. The dialogue also pointed out the inadequacies of international responses in tackling the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, underscoring the need for a more effective global intervention.
