The Chargé d'Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy in Damascus, Yassin Sharif Al-Hajimi, discussed with the Syrian Prime Minister, Muhammad Ghazi Al-Jalali, the coordination mechanisms between the two countries to secure the needs of Lebanese arrivals. According to the statement, Al-Hajimi informed the Syrian Prime Minister of the measures taken by the Iraqi government in implementation of the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, to secure all logistical and health services, and to emphasize Iraq's standing with Syria, government and people, in this ordeal, given his knowledge of the difficult economic conditions that Syria is going through. At the end of the meeting, thanks were extended to the Syrian government and President Bashar al-Assad for their honorable stance in receiving the Lebanese refugees and facilitating their affairs.'
