Baghdad, The temporary Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Tokyo, Biwan Jassim Ibrahim, discussed with a member of the Japanese Parliament, Orishi Ekinak, at the headquarters of the Japanese House of Representatives, cooperation in the field of exchanging expertise, investment, energy and construction between the two countries. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement, 'During the meeting, the political and economic developments taking place in Iraq and huge investment projects in the field of infrastructure were discussed.' Biwan stressed, "The Iraqi government's desire to expand the horizons of cooperation between the two countries at all levels and to benefit from Japanese expertise in the field of investment, energy and construction," noting the importance of exchanging high-level visits and activating meetings of the Parliamentary Friendship Committee between the two countries to exchange views on many bilateral and international issues." For his part, Orishi praised the developments that Iraq is currently witnessing and the stability of the political and security situation, stressing the desire to activate the committee's meetings and work to hold them as soon as possible, expressing his aspiration to visit Iraq in the future to discuss ways to develop relations between the two countries.
