Insan organization condemns crime of torturing citizen Shehab in STC prisons in Lhaj
Insan Organization for Rights and Freedoms denounced the crime of assault against the Yemeni citizen, Muhammad Jamal Ahmed Shehab, after he was kidnapped from his workplace in the city of Al-Houta, Lahj province, last week.
The organization stated in a statement, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that it followed up the crime of assaulting the life of citizen Shehab, a resident of the city of Al-Houta in Lahj province, at the age of 31, after he was kidnapped from his workplace, arrested and tortured, which led to the loss of his life inside a prison the so-called Transitional Council in Lahj.
It affirmed its condemnation of all similar abuses and crimes that violate the human rights of civilian citizens.
The organization called on the international community and the United Nations to put pressure on the de facto authorities in the southern provinces to prevent the recurrence of such grave violations against civilians and to hold the perpetrators accountable, stressing the proper treatment of prisoners in accordance with international laws and norms.
