Hundreds of Israeli Colonists Storm Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound in Jerusalem

JERUSALEM: Hundreds of Israeli colonists entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the occupied city of Jerusalem on Wednesday, amid heightened tensions and ongoing restrictions. The incident is part of a series of provocative actions that have occurred since the recent escalation of violence in the region.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, approximately 630 Jewish supremacist colonists, escorted by occupation forces, forced their way into the compound. They conducted rituals and tours, while Palestinians were denied access to the Old City of Jerusalem and the mosque compound. This marks a continuation of increased restrictions at the site since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in October 2023.

The recent escalation has seen over 68,000 Israeli colonists entering the mosque compound, raising concerns about potential clashes and further unrest in the region. The ongoing situation underscores a significant point of contention in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as both sides grapple with longstanding issues surrounding the site.
