Hodeida Port meeting discusses workflow in providing single maritime window services

A meeting at Hodeida port today,Wednesday, chaired by the Caretaker Transport Minister, Abdul Wahab Al-Durrah, discussed work progress in providing single maritime window services. The meeting, which included the heads of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Marine Engineer Yasser Muhammad, the General Authority for Maritime Affairs, Zaid Al-Washli, and the general directors of the Corporation and the Authority, reviewed the progress of the single window services, whose services were launched on January 1, according to the International Maritime Organization's circular. Minister Al-Durra stressed the importance of adhering to the standards of the international organization in providing services to agents and shipping companies, noting the efforts made in implementing the window project. He stressed the need to complete the connection with the rest of the concerned authorities on the 26th of this month, which coincides with World Customs Day, stressing that the project represents a turning point in work on marit ime affairs in accordance with what is practiced in the world's ports. Yemen's commitment to working on the single maritime window project in light of the challenges resulting from the aggression was considered an achievement that crowns the efforts of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council to provide work requirements in the maritime sector. He praised the measures taken by the Red Sea Ports Corporation and the sectors operating in the Corporation's ports to accelerate the operational process. Transport Caretaker Minister appreciated the coordination between all sectors operating in Hodeida Port, which had a positive impact on receiving ships and the speed of unloading their cargo, stressing the Ministry's keenness to achieve a qualitative leap in providing maritime transport services. He pointed out that the United Nations did not fulfill its promises made in the Stockholm Agreement to rehabilitate Hodeida port, which required inviting the private sector to participate in providi ng important equipment and mechanisms for the work of Hodeida ports, including gantry cranes and incubators.
