The Head of the Watan Alliance, MP Yasser Iskandar Witwit, revealed the date of voting on the candidate for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives. Witwit said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): 'The House of Representatives will hold, on Monday or Tuesday, a session to vote on the candidate for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives, from the participants in the first round of voting only, without adding any new name.' He explained: 'The competition will be limited to Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani and Salem Al-Issawi only,' pointing out that there are divisions in the political blocs (the coordination framework and the Sunni blocs) over the names of the candidates, and there is no consensus on one of the candidates yet.' He added: 'Political consensus and direct voting will decide the candidate in the voting session.' Source: National Iraqi News Agency
