Gov’t Comms. Minister calls for developing digital media tools

Minister of Government Communication, Mohammad Momani, said that the government will push media outlets to develop digital transformation tools, as well as keep up with and harness technology changes. Momani, who is also the government spokesperson, emphasized that the government will continue to communicate with media outlets, journalists, and media professionals in order to enhance the flow of information, in accordance with royal directives that require the government to be more transparent with the media "We must all have a real partnership and high responsibility towards modernizing and developing our national media in a way that ensures keeping pace with technological developments and respecting humanitarian principles and ethical and professional charters that raise the level of media work and protect the media message and safeguard it from rumors, lies, and falsification, so that our voice remains a reflection of the nation, its history and civilization, and the country with its originality and achi evements in this media space," Momani said during a ceremony organized by the Jordanian Broadcasters Association to mark Jordanian Broadcasters Day on Monday evening. Al Momani pointed to Jordanian efforts led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, which contributed on more than one occasion to escalating international efforts to condemn and denounce the targeting of journalists, media professionals and media outlets, stressing the importance of the role of media outlets and journalists who contributed in exposing Israeli crimes to international public opinion since the start of the barbaric Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, "and their steadfastness despite difficult circumstances, but they reported the crimes of the occupation with all professionalism and competence." In turn, the President of the Amman and Jordan Chamber of Industry, Fathi Al-Jaghbir, reviewed media outlets' role in highlighting the role of J ordanian industry and the productive sector and encouraging it, which positively affected the citizen and made him turn to the national industry sector, stressing the ability of Jordanian industries to withstand challenges and circumstances, especially during the Covid-19 crisis. He added that the productive and industrial sector is one of the most important contributors to reducing unemployment rates and the main employer, according to proven studies, as every JD2 billion increase in productivity provides 70,000 job opportunities, indicating that Jordan's exports amounted to nearly JD8 billion despite the high costs and the surrounding circumstances that the world is witnessing from wars and natural disasters.
