Gaza City: German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock called on Israel on Monday to open all border crossings to the Gaza Strip to allow humanitarian aid to enter. The German minister emphasized the critical need for aid, noting that the current volume entering Gaza has reached unprecedented lows over the past year, highlighting the dire humanitarian situation as tragic. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Baerbock criticized Israel for failing to fulfill its repeated promises regarding aid access, urging the Israeli government to provide more aid to the suffering civilian population in Gaza without delay. She highlighted that a significant portion of the over two million residents of Gaza are experiencing severe malnutrition and deplorable living conditions. Baerbock also pointed out the alarming number of children with amputations in the densely populated area, a situation unmatched anywhere else in the world. She described large tracts of Gaza as wasteland and reiterated her call fo r a ceasefire, asserting that ongoing conflict only perpetuates death and suffering.
