Gaza: Gaza Water Authority crews continue urgent relief operations to provide water to Palestinians returning to their homes in the southern city of Khan Yunis.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Authority stated that its technical teams are distributing limited quantities of water via tankers as part of an emergency response plan. This plan is aimed at meeting the basic needs of residents after the massive destruction of water networks led to a complete interruption of drinking water in the city.
The Authority also confirmed that its efforts are ongoing in cooperation with international organizations, despite facing significant field challenges and a lack of equipment and technical resources. The priority at this stage is to ensure access to safe and usable water for the affected population.
Furthermore, the Water Authority has called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to provide the necessary support to accelerate the rehabilitation of water infrastructure in Khan Yunis and other affected areas in the Gaza Strip. They warned of a worsening humanitarian crisis if the water shortage continues.
