Greater Amman Municipality (GAM)'s health department destroyed 766 kilograms of expired meat, found unfit for human consumption, in the capital, Amman, during the past two days. In a statement, the GAM's Health Control Department, Dr. Khaldoun Hawadi, said the campaign targeted butcher shops in Amman's various areas, which found some meat quantities were unfit for human consumption due to their expiration, vowing the necessary legal measures will be taken against violators. Additionally, he stated that the GAM's inspection teams conduct daily field visits to follow up and verify food safety in all shopping outlets to ensure compliance with safety requirements. In this regard, he affirmed the majority of butcher shops in Amman adhere to health and professional conditions in slaughtering and selling meat. Source: Jordan News Agency
