Cairo, The Fourth Meeting of the Mechanism of Political Consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil and the League of Arab States was held at the headquarters of Arab League in Cairo. The two sides discussed, during the meeting, the Palestinian question, especially the unprecedented situation in the Gaza Strip, in addition to sharing perspectives on the conflict and crises in the region and other issues of shared concern on the international agenda, including the establishment of a nuclear-weapon-free zone (NWFZ), women empowerment and climate change. Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the International Political Affairs Sector of the Arab League Khalid bin Muhammad Manzalawi and Brazil's Secretary for Africa and the Middle East in the Ministry of External Relations Carlos Duarte co-chaired the meeting.
