Khan Younes: Four Palestinian civilians were killed and others injured Monday evening in renewed Israeli airstrikes on the city of Khan Younes in the southern Gaza Strip, according to WAFA correspondent. The correspondent reported that Israeli warplanes bombed a house belonging to the al-Najjar family in the Qizan al-Najjar area, south of the city, resulting in these casualties. The injured, including children, were transferred to Nasser Medical Hospital in the city.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, another airstrike targeted a house in downtown Khan Younis, claiming the life of a civilian. Simultaneously, airstrikes targeted tents sheltering displaced persons in the Batn as-Sameen area, west of the city, causing several casualties. Medical sources revealed that the ongoing airstrikes on the Gaza Strip have resulted in the deaths of over 50 civilians since the early hours of Monday.
Earlier in the evening, separate Israeli bombardments resulted in the deaths of Al Jazeera Mubasher correspondent Hussam Shabat in the northern Gaza Strip and Mohammad Mansour, a reporter for Palestine Today TV, in the Al-Batin Al-Sameen area, south of Khan Younis.
The ceasefire agreement in Gaza was unilaterally ended by Israel, leading to a wave of airstrikes across the Strip. The resumed aggression has raised concerns over the deteriorating humanitarian situation, exacerbated by the ongoing siege and restrictions on medical and humanitarian aid.
Since October 2023, Israel's military actions in the Strip have resulted in the deaths of 50,082 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuries to 113,408 others. The conflict has also left at least 10,000 people unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes. The onslaught has forcibly displaced nearly two million people, predominantly to Rafah near the Egyptian border, marking the largest mass exodus in Palestine since the 1948 Nakba.
