The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the releasing and handing over of a kidnapped Yazidi woman through joint efforts with the National Intelligence Service. The ministry said in a statement: "The kidnapped Yazidi Fawzia Amin Saydo, who was released through joint efforts between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Intelligence Service, and in high coordination with the US embassies in Baghdad and Amman, and the Jordanian authorities, was received after efforts and follow-up that lasted for more than four months." It explained: "The kidnapped woman, who is 21 years old and from Al-Qahtaniyah area, Al-Adnaniyah complex, had been kidnapped by elements of the terrorist organization ISIS, and was transferred to several countries before being released yesterday / Tuesday / in direct coordination and supervision of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the aforementioned concerned authorities." The ministry added: "The girl was handed over to her family this evening (Wednesday) af ter her return to Iraq," stressing that the military "will make every effort to ensure the release of all kidnapped women, whether Yazidis or other components who were transferred outside Iraq, and seeks to contribute seriously to the national effort aimed at rehabilitation and integration into society, and bringing the perpetrators to justice."
