FM receives a copy of the credentials of the Swiss Ambassador residing in Iraq

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein received a copy of the credentials of the Swiss Ambassador to Iraq, Daniel Hohn. The Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed, according to a statement by the ministry, the reopening of the Swiss embassy in the capital, Baghdad, after 33 years of closure, stressing: "This step is important in the framework of strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Switzerland, and reflects the desire of both sides to consolidate cooperation in various fields." He added: "The reopening of the Swiss embassy represents an important positive step in strengthening the diplomatic relations and opening new horizons for fruitful cooperation between the two countries, in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly peoples," stressing the Iraqi government's support for the success of the mission of the Swiss mission in Baghdad.
