FM: Malaysia Decided To Open Its Embassy In Baghdad
Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein announced that Malaysia has decided to open its embassy in Baghdad.
“During our meeting, we discussed facilitating granting entry visas to citizens of the two countries,” he said in a joint press conference with his Malaysian counterpart, Zambry Abdul Kadir.
He added: “During the meeting, we stressed the necessity of holding a meeting of the joint committee between the two countries, and we called on Malaysian companies to invest in Iraq.”
For his part, Malaysian Foreign Minister Zambry Abdul Kadir confirmed: “The aim of our visit to Iraq is to open our embassy in Baghdad.”
Abdul Kadir said in a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein: “The Malaysian government has the desire to develop bilateral relations with Iraq.”
He added, “We discussed the development of relations between the two countries, the encouragement of investment, education and tourism, and we seek to facilitate the procedures for obtaining entry visas between the two countries.”
He continued: “We seek cooperation in all fields to achieve peace and eliminate the idea of Islamophobia.”
