Jerusalem: Israel's far-right Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, issued an order to shut down the offices of the Jerusalem Fund and Endowment in East Jerusalem. This action is seen as a violation of international laws and norms and is another measure affecting the Palestinian presence in the occupied city.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Jerusalem Governorate condemned the move, stating it is part of a systematic campaign by the Israeli government aimed at dismantling the sources of Palestinian civil society work. This action targets initiatives that support and empower Jerusalem's residents economically and socially.
The Governorate also stated that Ben-Gvir, known for his extremist and racist positions, has committed a political act that highlights the occupation's accelerating policy of escalation. It warned that this policy aims to stifle Palestinian life in Jerusalem and undermine the resilience of its residents.
