Jerusalem: Diplomatic missions in Jerusalem and Ramallah affiliated with the European Union said that the forcible Israeli raid on UNRWA premises in East Jerusalem, which was accompanied by the seizure of property, the cutting of communications, and the replacement of the United Nations flag with the Israeli flag, constitutes a flagrant violation of the Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the United Nations. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the joint statement issued by the diplomatic missions in Jerusalem and Ramallah affiliated with the European Union and the countries of France, Germany, Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Poland, Slovenia, Greece, Cyprus, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium, Ireland, Portugal, and Spain said that such measures create a dangerous precedent for a complete disregard of international law, including the Geneva Conventions, which grant legal protection to organizations that carry out vital tasks in accordance with international humanitarian law. It added that Israel must meet its obligations under the Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the United Nations, which guarantees the inviolability of United Nations premises and prohibits their violation.
