Emergency Arab Summit Kicks Off with President Abbas Participation

Cairo: The emergency Arab Summit will kick off this evening in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, with the participation of the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas. The President is set to deliver a speech at the summit addressing developments in Palestine and will engage in discussions with several Arab leaders on the sidelines of the event.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, this summit has been convened at the request of the State of Palestine to coordinate positions and unify visions concerning the challenges and significant developments facing the Palestinian cause. Key issues on the agenda include forming an Arab consensus on a reconstruction plan for the Gaza Strip without displacing residents, consolidating the ceasefire, and enabling the State of Palestine to assume its responsibilities in the Gaza Strip.

Additionally, the summit aims to address Israeli practices and plans in the West Bank and Jerusalem and work towards implementing the two-state solution. The ultimate goal is to end the occupation, establish a Palestinian state based on the 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, and achieve a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the region.
