Gaza: Eight Palestinians were killed and others injured following an Israeli airstrike that targeted a vehicle on Salah al-Din Street in the central Gaza Strip, as announced by medical sources in the region on Sunday evening.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the bodies of the eight individuals were transported to the morgue at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. The report also confirmed the death of Nael Bassam al-Barawi, who had been wounded in a previous Israeli airstrike targeting civilians in the al-Katiba area, west of Gaza City.
Medical sources further disclosed that the overall death toll from the Israeli offensive on the Strip has escalated to 72,239, with 171,861 individuals wounded since the offensive began on October 7, 2023. Within the past 24 hours, Gaza Strip hospitals received 13 deceased individuals (11 newly killed and two who succumbed to injuries), along with eight injured people.
The sources highlighted that since the ceasefire on October 11, the total number of fatalities has increased to 663, while the number of injuries has reached 1,762, in addition to the recovery of 756 bodies. A number of victims reportedly remain trapped under rubble and in the streets, as emergency teams have been unable to access them.
