Egypt’s Sis: Forcible Displacement of Palestinians Is an Injustice Egypt Cannot Be a Part Of

Cairo: Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, emphasized on Wednesday that the forcible relocation or displacement of the Palestinian people is an injustice that Egypt cannot be a part of. He reaffirmed that Egypt’s longstanding position on the Palestinian cause, rooted in historical principles, is non-negotiable. Sisi made these remarks during a joint press conference with Kenyan President William Ruto in Cairo.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, Sisi stressed that Egypt would never tolerate or allow the displacement of the Palestinian people, highlighting the significant impact this would have on Egypt’s national security. The president also reiterated Egypt’s commitment to working with U.S. President Donald Trump to pursue a long-awaited peace process based on the two-state solution.

“There are historical rights that cannot be overlooked,” said El-Sisi, adding that the Egyptian, Arab, and global public opinion all recognize the long-standing injustice inflicted upon the Palestinian people over the past 70 years. He also recalled that Egypt had warned at the onset of the war about the potential objective of making life in Gaza unbearable, leading to the forced displacement of Palestinians. Egypt’s position from the beginning has been a firm rejection of such actions, said Sisi.
