Egyptian President Abdulfattah Al-Sisi underlined on Wednesday that it is essential to keep scaling up efforts to safeguard the country's national security amid unprecedented regional and international challenges. The Egyptian leader made the remarks while welcoming the newly sworn-in government, said Presidential Spokesman Ahmad Fahmi in a press statement. Al-Sisi called for maintaining the gains made in the field of counterterrorism, protecting security and stability, and establishing the concepts of citizenship, tolerance, and non-discrimination, the spokesman said.
