Egypt Condemns Israeli Approval of Gaza Occupation Plan

Cairo: Egypt has expressed strong condemnation of Israel's recent approval of a plan to fully occupy the Gaza Strip. In a statement issued by its Foreign Ministry, Egypt criticized the decision, describing it as a step towards entrenching the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories and continuing what it terms as a genocidal war in Gaza.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Egypt's statement highlighted concerns that the plan aims to eliminate all aspects of Palestinian life, undermine their right to self-determination, and jeopardize the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. The statement further labeled the decision as a blatant and unacceptable violation of international and humanitarian law.

Egypt reiterated that Israel's policies of starvation and systematic killing of Palestinians would only serve to escalate the conflict and deepen regional tensions. The ongoing Israeli aggression has led to what Egypt describes as an unprecedented humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip.

The Foreign Ministry called on the international community, including the UN Security Council, to take immediate action to halt Israel's aggressive policies. By doing so, Egypt urged for a cessation of actions that impose facts on the ground, threaten peace prospects, and undermine the possibility of a two-state solution.

In its closing remarks, Egypt's Foreign Ministry emphasized that achieving security and stability for Israel and the broader region hinges on the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
