‘Education’ issues an explanatory statement regarding Gaza school students who are outside the Strip
Ramallah – Ma’an – Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education issued an explanatory statement regarding Gaza school students who are outside the Gaza Strip, due to the ongoing occupation aggression since the seventh of last October.
She said, in a statement, that as inquiries from families continue, especially those who left the Gaza Strip nearly two months ago, we clarify the following:
– For students in grades one through eleven, who attempted to register after 3/25/2024, their registration process will be completed later and the registration links will be activated, so they can join the distance learning program at the beginning of June according to special arrangements, to ensure that they complete the prescribed educational material.
– Dealing flexibly in high school courses in terms of the number of subjects students are allowed to take in each course, noting that the number of students registered for the exam is 1,119 students distributed over 22 countries, including 981 in Egyp
t.
– Follow up on the completion of the prescribed educational subject by students who have enrolled in the distance learning program from its beginning, according to specifications that ensure completion of the required subject.
– Its commitment to holding a special course for high school students in the sector once the aggression ends and the prescribed educational material is completed.
She stressed that she would spare no effort in following up on this issue, adding that the discrepancy in the periods of students’ enrollment in educational programs is due to the discrepancy in the timing of arrival in brotherly and friendly countries.
It considered this part of its duty towards the students to enable them to achieve their right to education, and it is fully prepared to resume the educational process in the Gaza Strip once the aggression ends, and whenever objective conditions are available to save the academic year.
She pointed out that since the beginning of the occupation’s aggression against the G
aza Strip, the Ministry, in cooperation with the Palestinian embassies abroad, has continued to register students who left the Strip with their families abroad, to enable them to study remotely in Palestinian schools in the West Bank, and opened evening distance schools, in which hundreds volunteered. Teachers from the West Bank, responding to the call of duty and expressing their victory for the right of Gaza students to study.
It also recently sent a specialized employee to the Arab Republic of Egypt to follow up on the registration of students wishing to take the high school exam, and it communicated with the Palestinian embassies where students are located to register high school students wishing to take the exam in its first session.
