During the event, the participants delved into the multifaceted concept of digital transformation, characterized by revolutionary service delivery and radical shifts, indicating that traditional products are displaced in favor of innovative solutions, encapsulating a spectrum of innovation types, including radical, incremental, cloned, and disruptive innovations. Former Minister of Transport, Khaled Saif, articulated the essence of disruptive innovation, where enhanced services rectify existing flaws and deficiencies. “Often spearheaded by fledgling companies and visionary entrepreneurs rather than corporate giants, disruptive innovation invariably introduces unprecedented technologies,” he said, exemplifying this with the prevalence of music streaming applications, rendering the antiquated “CD” model obsolete. He underscored the accessibility and cost-effectiveness of disruptive innovation as well as its prescience in meeting future customer demands, thereby paving the way for novel endeavors while addressing overlooked gaps. Former Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Muthanna Gharaibeh shifted the discourse towards the critical foundation necessary for successful digital transformation an apt technological infrastructure and an ecosystem that comprehends its significance. He postulated that the value of technology lies not solely in its existence but in its capacity to deliver comprehensive and accurate services, predicting that machines would not supplant humans in the foreseeable future. Furthermore, the discussion highlighted the intensified competition among sales outlets, catalyzed by digital avenues, signifying that the relentless pursuit of excellence through speed and error-free service provision emerged as the key to survival in this digital age.
