The Dhi Qar Police Command revealed the murder of a woman inside her home in Al-Fajr district, north of the governorate. The Command stated in a statement: Dhi Qar police uncovered a murder and arrested the perpetrator within record time. Al-Fajr Police Station, one of the branches of the Qalaat Sukkar Police Department, received a report about the incident. The governorate Police Chief, Major General Makki Shana Al-Khikani, immediately directed the formation of a work team headed by the director of the department. Through investigations, gathering information, and examining the site of the accident, the accused was identified and within a record time of two hours since the crime occurred, the accused (H.J.H.) was arrested. He explained that by confronting him with the evidence available against him, he frankly admitted that he entered the victim's house after monitoring the house with the aim of stealing, and during that he killed the victim because she recognized him, confirming that he stabbed her with a sharp object, and then he stole an amount of 7 million Iraqi dinars and fled from the crime scene. He added that his confession statements were judicially recorded, and the investigating judge decided to arrest him based on Article 406 of the Iraqi Penal Code to complete the due process of investigation.
