Post: Delegation Visits Tulkarm Amid Reports of Israeli Aggression and Displacement

Tulkarm: Tulkarm Governor Abdullah Kmail briefed a diplomatic delegation, including ambassadors, consuls, and representatives of foreign and local media, on the developments of the Israeli aggression on Tulkarm and its two camps, which resulted in the destruction of between 2,800 and 3,000 housing units in the two camps and the displacement of approximately 24,000 citizens.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, during the meeting at the governorate headquarters, Kmail conveyed the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas and the concern and follow-up of Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa. He emphasized that the aggression witnessed in Tulkarm violates international laws and norms.

Kmail detailed the occupation's violations, including infrastructure destruction, home burnings, and theft of citizens' belongings. He noted that relief efforts have been obstructed by direct threats. He reported that since October 7, 2023, 223 Palestinians, including women and children, have been slain.

Economic conditions have worsened with the governorate's complete closure and entry ban on citizens from the 1948 territories, affecting merchants significantly. The education sector is also impacted, with students missing out on education since 2023, and schools closed for over 80 days.

Kmail called for international intervention to halt the aggression, support reconstruction, and provide humanitarian aid, highlighting the need for housing for displaced families. He emphasized the governorate's focus on reconstruction and restoring security in the camps.
