Defense mourns commander of air force, air defense
The Ministry of Defense and the Chairmanship of the General Staff on Sunday mourned martyr Maj. Gen. Ahmed al-Hamzi, Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense, who passed away after suffering from illness.
In the obituary statement, the Ministry of Defense and the Chiefs of Staff praised the martyr’s virtues, his patriotic roles, and his brave heroic stances during his jihadist life, which culminated in his courageous stance, leading the front lines in waging the battle to defend the homeland and confront the aggressors, invaders, and mercenaries.
It made it clear that al-Hamzi was a distinguished military commander and a sincere fighter who believed in Allah and the sanctity of defending the homeland, sparing no time or effort and toured the various fronts, presenting himself and his blood for Allah and for the sake of the country and its people, adding he was assigned national and jihadist tasks and responsibilities, which he carried out with success and distinction.
The statement pointed out that the martyr contributed to upgrading the Air Force and Air Defense, developing its capabilities, and leaving immortal imprints that generations will remember him with pride.
