Death Toll Across Gaza Strip Surges to 48,446, Over 111,852 Injured

Gaza Strip: The number of Palestinians who have been killed in the Gaza Strip has risen to 48,446, and the number of injuries to 111,852, since the beginning of the Israeli occupation aggression on October 7, 2023.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, medical sources reported that six Palestinians were killed and seven injured within the last 24 hours, as they were brought to hospitals across the Gaza Strip. Efforts to rescue more victims continue, but many remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings and in the streets, with ambulance and civil defense teams unable to reach them effectively.

The aggression has resulted in tens of thousands of civilian casualties, including approximately 17,581 children and about 12,048 women. Additionally, around 11,000 individuals remain missing under the rubble and on the roads. This ongoing crisis has led to a 6% decrease in the population of the Strip by the end of 2024.

The humanitarian situation is dire, as about 96% of Gaza Strip citizens are facing high levels of acute food insecurity as of September 2024. More than 495,000 residents, or 22% of the population, are experiencing catastrophic levels of acute food insecurity (phase five), with some at risk of death due to malnutrition and food shortages.
