Provisional results of European Parliament elections announced in Brussels late Sunday show that the conservative European People's Party (EPP) is leading with 189 seats out of the 720 seats in total. The Socialist and Democratic Party (SandD) is second with 135 seats and European Conservatives and Reformists Group (ECR) third with 72 seats.
