COMSTECHs General Coordinator Meets with Gaza University Presidents to Discuss Humanitarian and Academic Support

Islamabad: Professor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Chaudhry, Coordinator General of the Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMSTECH), held a high-level virtual meeting with the presidents of all major universities in Gaza, with the aim of coordinating a collective humanitarian and academic response to the catastrophic impact of the ongoing war on the higher education sector in the region.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, in a message of solidarity, Dr. Chaudhary expressed his concern for the suffering of the Palestinian people, particularly academics, students, and researchers who bear the brunt of the ongoing destruction. He reiterated COMSTECH's commitment to supporting academic institutions in Gaza during this crisis.

During the meeting, the General Coordinator extended an official invitation to the presidents of Gazan universities currently outside the Strip to visit Islamabad. The aim is to initiate a direct dialogue with key stakeholders and explore collaborative solutions to ensure the continuity of academic education under these circumstances.

Senior COMSTECH officials participated in the meeting, reaffirming the organization's commitment to supporting educational resilience and academic recovery in Gaza.
