Gaza: The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission: The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission warned on Monday of the danger posed by media reports revealing a colonial settlement plan aimed at seizing around 100 strategic locations within Area A of the West Bank, describing it as a qualitative shift in the colonial project intended to undermine Palestinian geography and accelerate annexation measures.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Head of the Commission, Minister Mu'ayyad Shaaban, stated that the plan, led by colonization groups including the 'Colonization Farms Union,' aligns with the current Israeli government policy to impose de facto annexation and consolidate control over the occupied Palestinian Territory. He emphasized that these groups have transitioned from mere pressure groups to direct partners in decision-making, receiving political, administrative, and security support to advance their agenda.
Shaaban further noted that the Israeli government is actively working to fragment Palestinian geography and isolate cities, villages, and communities from one another. He highlighted that targeting Area A, which should be under Palestinian civil and security control, constitutes a direct violation of existing agreements and represents an attempt to impose a new reality on the ground.
He explained that the shift in colonization schemes from a phase of pressure and influence to one of formal implementation is reflected in the escalation of colonists' attacks, the expansion of colonization outposts, and ongoing attempts to seize strategic areas in the West Bank.
Shaaban called on the international community, along with legal and human rights institutions, to assume their responsibilities and take practical measures to halt these policies. He warned that continued international silence would encourage the erosion of international law and UN resolutions, making annexation and fragmentation plans a fait accompli that would be difficult to reverse.
