Colonists Uproot Olive Trees Near Nablus

Nablus: Israeli colonists cut down dozens of olive trees in the village of Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya, south of Nablus, on Tuesday. The head of the village council in Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya, Yaqoub Awis, informed WAFA correspondent that colonists targeted the olive trees in the Saria area, located southeast of the village.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the annual report of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission revealed that there were 451 attacks on Palestinian trees throughout the past year, resulting in damage to 14,212 trees. Among these, 10,459 were olive trees, which hold significant cultural and economic value for Palestinian communities.

The report further detailed that the Hebron Governorate experienced the highest number of tree damages with 3,980 trees affected. It was followed by the Bethlehem Governorate, where 3,791 trees were reported damaged and uprooted. The Nablus Governorate, where the recent attack took place, recorded 2,737 damaged and uprooted trees.
