Colonists Re-Establish Outpost Near Ramallah

Gaza: Colonists re-established a colonial outpost on the lands of the town of Atara, north of Ramallah, on Tuesday. The mayor of Atara, Nizar Mughrabi, reported that more than 15 colonists stormed the "Jabal al-Khirba" area at the entrance to the town on Tuesday morning. They erected two tents and brought cows and sheep, releasing them into the lands surrounding the outpost.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, "Jabal al-Khirba," covering an area of 2,000 dunams, is an archaeological site frequented by colonists as part of a settlement policy aimed at displacing the population. Mughrabi noted that settlers have attempted to establish 15 new colonial outposts since the beginning of July, with most being agricultural and pastoral. These include five in the Hebron Governorate, two outposts each in Salfit, Bethlehem, Ramallah, and Jericho, and one each in Tubas and Jenin.

It is noteworthy that dozens of colonists stormed the "Jabal al-Khirba" area at the entrance to the town yesterday, accompanied by a bulldozer. They began paving a dirt road for the area and set up tents there. The colonists stayed for several hours before withdrawing in the evening, only to return the following morning.
