Colonists Flood Palestinian Farmlands with Sewage, Attempt to Steal Livestock in Masafer Yatta

Masafer yatta: Israeli colonists on Thursday flooded Palestinian farmlands in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, with sewage water and attempted to steal livestock from local shepherds, according to local activist Osama Makhamreh.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Makhamreh reported that colonists from the illegal Karmei'el colony deliberately released wastewater over agricultural lands in the village of Khirbet Umm al-Khair. This act not only caused environmental damage but also posed a severe threat to the livelihood of local farmers who rely on these lands for their sustenance.

Furthermore, Makhamreh highlighted that colonists attempted to steal sheep from livestock pens in Khirbet al-Fakhit, another community within Masafer Yatta. These aggressive actions have intensified the challenges faced by Palestinian shepherds in the region.

In addition to the flooding and theft attempts, groups of colonists conducted provocative tours near Palestinian homes in the Shaab al-Batm area. Activists claim that these tours are part of a broader strategy to pressure residents into abandoning their lands, thereby enabling further expansion of illegal colonies.
