Colonists Assault Palestinians’ Dwellings in Northern Jordan Valley

Al-maleh: Israeli colonists on Thursday evening assaulted Palestinians' dwellings in al-Maleh in the northern Jordan Valley, according to local sources. They said that colonists attacked the community dwellings and attempted to steal their livestock.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, colonists vandalized Palestinian farmers' crops in Wadi Ar-Rakhim near Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron. Osama Makhamra, an activist, reported that colonists sprayed chemicals on an eight-dunum wheat and barley-cultivated plot of land, destroying the crops. The vandals came from the nearby colony of Suseya.

Colonists' violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities. This violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others. Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
