Bethlehem: Israeli colonists Sunday set up a new colonial outpost on the lands of citizens in the Minya region, southeast of Bethlehem. The head of the Minya Village Council, Zayed Kawazba, told our correspondent that a group of colonists installed a number of tents in the southern region of the village.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the establishment of this focus came less than 24 hours after an attack launched by colonists in the nearby Wadi Sair area, which resulted in the burning of the vehicle of local resident Ihab Shallala and the destruction of solar energy cells used by the people in lighting and watering livestock.
Kawazba stated that the region has been subjected to repeated attacks by the colonists, protected by the army, with the aim of forcing the people to leave their lands. He called on human rights and humanitarian authorities and international institutions to intervene urgently to stop this illegal colonial expansion, which he described as a violation of international law and the Geneva Conventions, threatening the Palestinian presence in the entire region.
He emphasized that Minya is highly targeted by colonists, as several illegal outposts are set up in its vicinity as part of a plan to separate the south of the West Bank from its middle through a series of colonial expansions.
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority noted that in the first half of 2025, colonists established 23 colonies on the lands of citizens, most of which are pastoral foci, in various governorates, continuing the policy of imposing facts on the ground under the full auspices of the occupation army.
