Colonial Expansion Intensifies as New Tent Erected Near Ramallah

Gaza: Colonists have set up a new tent within a burgeoning colonial outpost on Palestinian land in the town of Atara, northwest of Ramallah, marking a significant step in their efforts to seize the land.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, local sources reported that the colonists invaded the "Jabal al-Khirba" area at the town's entrance, where they erected their ninth tent and installed additional infrastructure, including new water tanks and an electrical transformer, to illuminate the outpost. This activity is part of a broader strategy for colonial expansion.

The same sources revealed that a colonist, accompanied by his sheep, infiltrated a grape vineyard owned by Adham Lafi in the town, after forcibly entering by breaking the lock and gate. This incident follows the establishment of a colonial outpost on August 11, which occupies approximately 25 dunams and includes newly paved dirt roads.

The Jabal al-Khirba area, encompassing 2,000 dunams and renowned as an archaeological site, has become a frequent target for colonists. These actions are seen as part of a larger colonial policy designed to displace Palestinian residents.

Since the beginning of last July, colonists have attempted to establish 15 new colonial outposts, primarily focused on agricultural and pastoral purposes. Five of these outposts are located in the Hebron Governorate, with two each in Salfit, Bethlehem, Ramallah, and Jericho, and one each in Tubas and Jenin.
