Masafer yatta: A Palestinian child was injured and several residents experienced suffocation on Saturday evening following an attack by Israeli colonists in Masafer Yatta, located south of Hebron.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, anti-settlement activist Osama Makhamreh reported that the child, Suhaib Raed Badawi, sustained bruises after being beaten by colonists in the area. The incident also involved an attack on the family of Mohammad Abdul Rahman al-Jabarin, who resides in the eastern part of Shaab al-Butm. The family was sprayed with pepper spray, leading to suffocation for several individuals, including a foreign activist and a woman.
Following the attack, Israeli forces detained four Palestinians after colonists targeted shepherds in the Abu Shaban area. The detainees were identified as Ismail Awad, Jabr Mohammad Alyan Awad, and brothers Saif and Karam Tawfiq Awad.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, colonists conducted 443 attacks over the past month amid ongoing war and regional tensions. The instability has been exploited to intensify assaults on Palestinian villages and communities.
In a report issued Saturday, the commission noted that the attacks were marked by escalation and coordination, involving direct gunfire, the burning of homes and property, and attempts to alter the geographic and demographic reality in the occupied West Bank. The report highlighted that most attacks were concentrated in Nablus (108 incidents), Hebron (99), Ramallah and Al-Bireh (76), Bethlehem (32), Jerusalem (24), Salfit (23), along with Jericho and Qalqilya.
