Amman: According to the Public Security Department (PSD) Spokesperson, firefighters from the Civil Defense directorates (CDD) of Ajloun and Jerash extinguished a fire that damaged dry grass and forest trees in the Ajloun bushes today. He continued by saying that there were no injuries from the fire, even though its size had grown to 100 dunums, and that an investigation had been launched to determine its origins. Earlier, the PSD issued a fresh warning to abide by its regulations in order to save woods, fruit trees, and other natural areas. It advised avoiding actions that can start fires, such as tossing cigarette butts, being careless with sources of ignition, and failing to fully extinguish a fire while trekking. The need of reporting events on the single emergency number, 911, was emphasized. Source: Jordan News Agency
