Baghdad Operations Commander, Lieutenant General Walid Al-Tamimi, chaired a conference to discuss the security file and the most important challenges and measures taken on the Karkh and Rusafa sides of Baghdad. The command stated in a statement: 'At a time when the capital, Baghdad, is witnessing security stability, the Operations Commander, in the presence of Major General Deputy Commander for Interior Affairs, Major General Director of Operations at the Ministry of Interior, and a number of officers of the Command Staff, chaired a security conference at the command headquarters, to follow up on the security file and the plan drawn up and the measures taken on the Karkh and Rusafa sides, coinciding with the advent of the holy month of Muharram.' The statement added: 'The joint work and coordination mechanism was discussed between our security forces and the units attached to them in the Ministries of Defense and Interior to prevent anyone who dares to tamper with the security and stability of the citizen.
