Jerusalem - Together - The US Department of Defense (the Pentagon) said that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin stressed in a call with the Israeli Defense Minister the need to take concrete steps to protect relief workers and civilians in Gaza. The Pentagon said in a statement that Austin urged Gallant during the call to conduct a transparent and rapid investigation into the killing of aid workers and to share its results publicly.
