At least seven people were killed on Monday night in an IED explosion in Balochistan province, southwestern Pakistan.
Pakistani police said that an explosive device exploded in Balgatar area of Panjgur district, killing seven people, including a senior official, according to (Radio Pakistan).
Balochistan has been witnessing turmoil since 2004, as militants launch attacks targeting the Pakistani security forces and are calling for the independence of the region, which is rich in natural resources.
The army and security forces are consistently conducting operations to pursue armed groups that holed up in the mountains and target both military forces and civilians alike.
