At Least 29 Palestinians Killed by Israeli Gunfire, Ongoing Shelling on Gaza City

Gaza city: At least 29 Palestinian civilians have been killed by Israeli occupation forces’ gunfire and ongoing shelling of the Gaza Strip since dawn on Monday, with 25 of the casualties reported from Gaza City.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, medical sources revealed that the Al-Rantisi Children’s and Eye Hospitals have ceased operations due to the ongoing shelling around their premises. This has also led to the destruction of the Medical Relief Center in Gaza City. Al-Rantisi Hospital had previously suffered direct hits from Israeli airstrikes, causing extensive damage.

Al-Rantisi Hospital and Ayoun Hospital are critical facilities in the region, providing specialized services. Ayoun Hospital is the only public hospital offering eye services in the Gaza Strip, while Al-Rantisi Hospital provides unique medical services that are not available elsewhere in the region.

Medical sources emphasized that the Israeli actions are systematically targeting the health care system in the Gaza Strip, which they allege is part of a broader policy against the region. They noted the extreme difficulty faced by patients and the wounded in accessing the Jordanian field hospital and Al-Quds Hospital due to ongoing shelling, with no safe routes available for them to reach these facilities.
