Erdogan to Address Israeli Actions in Gaza at UN Assembly

New York: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced that his upcoming speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) will center on Israel's actions in Gaza. He emphasized the need for immediate measures to protect Palestinians and progress towards a two-state solution.

According to TRTworld.com, President Erdogan made these remarks at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport before his departure for New York. He stated, "In my speech at the UN, I am going to voice the prosecution in Gaza, and Türkiye's efforts towards protecting stability in the region."

President Erdogan highlighted that this year's UNGA would be distinct from previous sessions, predicting that "many countries will recognize the State of Palestine." He also expressed hopes that the UNGA would support Syria's pursuit of freedom, noting that "Syrian brothers and sisters paid heavy costs for their freedom." Türkiye, he added, desires "peace in every inch of our region."
