Army-guarded Israeli settlers attack a village in Masafer Yatta

Groups of army-backed extremist Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian civilians this evening in the village of Al-Tuwanah in Masafer Yatta region, to the south of Hebron, according to local sources. WAFA correspondent said dozens of Israeli Jewish settlers from the colonial settlement of Havat Maon attacked farmers and civilians in the village, provoking clashes with them. An Israeli army force which later arrived into the village to secure the way of the attacking settlers out of the village fired teargas at the local Palestinian residents, causing cases of suffocation from gas inhalation. A 19-year-old Palestinian teenager was also beaten up and arrested by the Israeli occupation army in the village, said the sources. There are over 700,000 Israeli settlers illegally occupying portions of the West Bank in violation of international law and established norms prohibiting the relocation of the occupying power’s civil population to the land of the occupied.
