Amman: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti received on Sunday the Chief of Staff of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Issa Saif Al Mazrouei, and the accompanying delegation. The guest was accorded a military reception ceremony, where he reviewed the honor guards that lined up to greet him. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said: "The fraternal relations between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the United Arab Emirates represent a role model for facing various challenges and difficulties, and that cooperation with the UAE Armed Forces continues in all military fields by utilizing mutual expertise and capabilities." For his part, Lieutenant General Al Mazrouei congratulated the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on Independence Day, emphasizing the depth of the established relations and the importance of developing them and the close military cooperation between the two brotherly countries. The army chief and his UAE counterpart, in the presence of a nu mber of senior officers of the Armed Forces, listened a number of military briefings outlining the areas of bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries, in line with the nature of the developments taking place in the region at various levels. Additionally, The army chief and his UAE counterpart visited the HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Rapid Intervention Brigade Command and the Joint Fire Training Center (SAFT) of the brigade. Maj. Gen. Huneiti, Lieutenant General Al Mazrouei, and the delegation listened to a military briefing on the tasks and duties carried out by the Rapid Intervention Brigade, the quality training programs for the brigade's units and the roles assigned to the brigade. They also toured an exhibition of weapons and equipment used in the brigade. The naming of the brigade after His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is an expression of the deep fraternal relations between the two countries, and in appreciation of the UAE and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for supporting the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) - Arab Army. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces also visited the industrial zone for defense industries affiliated with the Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB), to learn about the Jordanian experience in defense industries and discuss joint cooperation. Maj. Gen. Huneiti and the delegation listened to a briefing on the JODDB's organizational units and its affiliated companies, defense solutions, products and services it provides, and discussed current and future points of cooperation in the field of defense industries and their development for future joint work with the JODDB. During his tour, the Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the visiting delegation attended a presentation of a number of solutions, systems, mechanisms and weapons produced by the JODDB and affiliated companies, and lauded its capabilities and capacities.
