Algeria Denounces Israeli Plans to Reoccupy Gaza, Calls for International Intervention

Algiers: Algeria on Saturday expressed its strong condemnation and outright rejection of the Israeli plans to reoccupy the Gaza Strip, which jeopardize the future of the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian state and peace across the entire region, the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the statement highlighted that this development comes just days after an international conference on the two-state solution, reaffirming the global community's support for this approach as the sole viable path to a just and lasting resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Algerian Ministry noted that the occupying power's intentions to militarily reoccupy Gaza and forcibly displace its residents demonstrate a blatant disregard for international consensus and resolutions.

Algeria further emphasized that the Gaza Strip remains an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territories and is crucial to the Palestinian state as recognized by international legitimacy. The Ministry urged the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take decisive action against these Israeli plans and halt the ongoing conflict against the Palestinian people, which has persisted for nearly two years.

The statement concluded by stressing the urgency of addressing the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza. Algeria reaffirmed its stance that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital is a historic right that must not be compromised.
