Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani stressed the importance of holding the emergency Arab and Islamic summit called for by Iraq to discuss developments in the situation. A statement from his office stated: "Al-Sudani met today, Tuesday, in New York, with the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, on the sidelines of his participation in the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly in its seventy-ninth session." The meeting witnessed discussions on bilateral relations, developments in the region, the repercussions of the Palestinian issue, the continuation of the Zionist aggression on Gaza, and the recent attacks on brotherly Lebanon. The two sides also discussed ways to manage the air and land bridge announced by Iraq, in order to provide relief and assistance to the Lebanese people, and alleviate their suffering as a result of the aggression targeting infrastructure, services, hospitals and civilian areas in a criminal and random manner. Al-Sudani stressed th e importance of holding the emergency Arab and Islamic summit called for by Iraq, to discuss developments in the situation, and prevent the expansion of the conflict. The Prime Minister also supported the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan's approach to communicating with the parties in the European Union, in order to mobilize international support in favor of stopping the aggression and preventing the ongoing genocide against the steadfast Palestinian people.
