Al-Sudani Inaugurates The GRP Pipe Production Plant In Basra

Prime Minister Muhammad Al-Sudani inaugurated, today, Saturday, a pipe production plant (GRP) in Basra Governorate.

Al-Sudani said, during his speech, that Al-Narjis factory for fiberglass pipes is the first in Iraq to be implemented with these modern specifications, in terms of machines, inspection devices, raw materials and technologies related to this type of pipes that all infrastructure projects need, and which were imported from outside of Iraq.

The Prime Minister indicated that the plant’s production will cover the needs of all infrastructure projects, as well as foreign companies contracting with the Ministry of Oil within the licensing rounds, praising the initiative of the Al-Narjis Company and the Governor of Basra for taking care of the private sector, which represents the integration that must be achieved between the state, its ministries and governorates, with the sector. The private sector, confirming his previous directives to the governors to support the private sector, because it is a capable sector and capable of transferring modern technologies.

Al-Sudani stressed that the government is moving towards supporting the private sector and providing all required facilities, as it has proven in the tripartite budget its willingness to grant sovereign guarantees to the private sector in order to establish laboratories and factories and establish agricultural projects, this government approach is the best way to create sustainable development.

It is noteworthy that the factory was established by Al-Narjis Company after an agreement was reached with the Italian company (TOPFIBRA) to train and operate Iraqi cadres. The factory’s production capacity is (7 tons/hour) for various standard diameters (300 mm - 3000 mm) and various nominal pressures (6 bar). 32- bar).
